Job Description
The Virginia Center for Behavioral Rehabilitation is a behavioral treatment center recognized for its excellence by securely housing and treating civilly committed sex offenders. Through timely, consistent, and fair and equitable program application, VCBR promotes self recovery and self determination of committed population. All contact between staff and residents is deemed therapeutic. VCBR is seeking a Psychology Associate II to promote the organizational objective of the psychology department via the provision of quality psychological evaluation, assessment, and treatment services, in collaboration with other disciplines, thereby fostering adaptive functioning and improving the welfare of individuals served. The Psychology Associate II will conduct psychological assessments for treatment planning purposes and to clarify clinical needs. This position will also be responsible for facilitating some treatment groups.
The selected incumbent(s) should have thorough knowledge of: psychopathology and its treatment; models of behavior change/management; psychotherapeutic processes and modalities; cognitive and personality factors; and a broad range of psychological evaluative procedures and instruments available for diagnostic and treatment planning purposes.
Experience with psychological assessment, especially in forensic contexts.
Familiarity with individual differences and with psychological regulatory processes affecting individual and interpersonal functioning.
Familiarity with relevant ethical and professional standards of practice in an inpatient setting.
Deliver presentations or training using acceptable methods and techniques.
Develop curriculum, learning objectives, and/or course materials.
## Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or other mental health field AND either a Doctorate in a related field OR a license as a Professional Counselor, Psychologist, Social Worker, OR certification as a Sex Offender Treatment Provider.
Efficient in Microsoft Office applications with the ability to develop and present professional curricula
## Preferred Qualifications
Virginia Clinical Psychologist License preferred
Graduate from an APA-accredited doctoral program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology preferred

Satisfactory results of a state and federal criminal history background check, Department of Social Service's Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry check, U.S. HHS OIG Exclusion List check, employment reference check, E-Verify and satisfactory results from your required pre-employment drug test.
