Network Engineer
NES is searching for a LAN Tier III Network Engineer. Successful applicant will require knowledge of current LAN technologies and vendor equipment to include Cisco and Brocade. Candidate will be responsible for designing, configuring, implementing, and documenting network solutions as well as supporting Tier III incident resolution, service request fulfillment, security patching, technical refreshes and upgrades. Travel is required as the project dictates.
This position requires 5 years of experience providing network engineering services, a Vendor certification (BACI, BPIA, BEIT, CCSE NGX, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CCSP, SCNA, CCSE NGX Plus NG with AI, CCMSE NG with AI, CSMSE NG with AI Plus VSX, NSA, ESE, ECIE-C, or CCDA) and a minimum IAT-II security certification (Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CSA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP). Selected candidate must possess an active Top Secret Security Clearance.
## Required Skills
**Required Skills:**
* Hands-on working experience with Switches, Routers, Firewalls, Load balancers, etc.
* Fundamental knowledge of TCP/IP and related routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF/ISIS, etc.
* Fundamental knowledge of MPLS protocols and services (L3VPN and L2VPN, 6PE/6VPE, etc.)
* Working knowledge of Visio & MS PowerPoint to update and maintain network design and cabling documentation
* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, documents or governmental regulations
## Required Experience
* 5 years of relevant IT experience
* 1-2 years' experience in network engineering, design and implementation
* Proven capability to interpret and evaluate engineering plans, site install technical design packages and supporting documentation to facilitate network equipment configuration and implementation
* Knowledge of and hands-on experience with network devices such as routers and switches
* Expertise in confirming compliance in accordance with commercial best practices/standards and customer provided standards
* Strict attention to detail; Adherence to rigid guidelines and processes; Ability to validate, update and maintain accurate records
